Alfieri is a lawyer in 1940s Brooklyn. He recounts a case that bothers him: he tells of Eddie Carbone, a longshoreman, and his family: his wife and his beloved niece Catherine. Eddie loves Catherine intensely but she is growing up, and when he helps shelter his wife’s immigrant cousins from Sicily, he is faced with the idea of losing her to another. A tragic story of possession, love and justice.
